First dentist visit
so i see these commercials all the time about how kids should go to the dentist by one year old and i heard a celebrity saying that she's supporting the effort by being part of some group or movement or whatever...blah blah blah. turns out that IS the recommendation now! i have to give props to cassie for getting us in gear...we got there at 14.5 months. here's how it went down...
my sweet girl runs at a million miles an hour all the time...the other day she was running just this way and slipped and ended up knocking her face into a house. my poor mother-in-law had to deal with the tears and blood afterwards. not too much damage considering the possibilities, but she did end up with a fat lip and a piece of her tooth that had gone missing. husband started calling her "snaggle tooth" and it stuck.
i finally got this picture the other day while she was out cold in her car seat:
and this picture was taken by my MIL shortly after the incident...doesn't look like she ever fell, right?
she's been eating and shoving things into her mouth as usual, so we didn't think it was bothering her at all. we took her to the dentist just in case and she said one tooth is a little loose but the chipped tooth is okay. it didn't chip far enough to affect the root so less chance of infection which is good. cass was a champ, didn't even shed a tear during the exam. we got a lecture on brushing her teeth, two free toothbrushes, and a bath toy out of the deal. glad it went so smoothly. i imagine this won't be our only emergency trip to the dentist or doctor with how this girl throws herself around...sigh...
Won't be the first time unfortunately...
ReplyDeleteGlad it went well - sounds like a great dentist! Love, GG (Poor Peg - I would have been in therapy and cried for weeks - I'm just not a strong-enough grandmother)
