i'm just taking a look back at the blog and realized that the last time i posted a picture of this tree was april 2009. at that time, things were unraveling pretty quickly. i was entering a particularly bad time in this little voyage i'm on. i actually quit my job shortly after the pink tree post...my boss didn't let me but he did let me cut down my hours. after flaring pretty badly in june of that year, i started on high dose steroids and we all know what happened there. yuck.
amazing what a couple years can do...i'm feeling SO much better now and pretty much look like myself again. i can do most things by myself and have a fair amount of energy. i'm even working out at a gym! we're still trying to have children so i did wean off of methotrexate again but did not wean off of anything else. i'm trying to be careful to avoid upsetting the balance. i really don't want a repeat of 2009 thank you very much. i'm at a good place and would like to keep it that way!
some words of thanks to my husband for being patient and helpful and comforting through these difficult years. here's hoping the coming years will be much more pleasant for both of us!

I had no idea you actually tried to quit...wow. So glad this time around is going smoother. I did not like the other time AT ALL!!!
ReplyDeleteLove that tree! Love your strength! Love your Easter picture! Love, Mom
ReplyDeleteLooking sexy :) both of you!
ReplyDeleteHow is it that you guys look exactly like you did when I met you thirteen years ago, but we're all balding and fat, well Matt's balding anyway. The only advice I have on the pg front, as a woman who gets pg when she sits on the toilet seat after her husband, is DO NOT overthink it! We had an infertile spell for three years when we were 'trying', ie using an ovulation stick, trying different positions, etc. It wasn't much fun, and it didn't get us anywhere. We've gotten there six times now, and every time was after a boozy night out when babies were the furthest thing from our minds! Love you guys, Linda
ReplyDeleteTo anonymous Linda...
ReplyDeleteContrary to popular belief, relaxing does not make babies.
Infertility is a very real problem that people struggle with and it can be exceptionally hurtful to hear things like, "Just relax!" or "I get pregnant when my husband looks at me!".
