College reunion

this past weekend i attended my 15 year college reunion with three of my friends/roommates from college. i hadn't spent this much time with these girls in many many years, so i wasn't sure what to expect. we ended up showing up at the exact same time which was weird. we checked in, put our bags down, put our snacks away, put our wine in the fridge, and got to laughing. we shared our little updates, our stories, our scandals, our pictures, our sad things and our happy things...our fb updates and our insta.gram handles...i even got a boob update from two of them (ha).

then we went to the lobster bake. YUM.

did i mention that it was 90+ degrees the whole weekend? that does not bode well for looking cute, but i think i pulled it off. anyway...on saturday we revisited some old haunts. we went to a local 50s diner for lunch (and lots of diet coke...i slept too late for coffee...when was the last time THAT happened?). then we hit up the bookstore for some expensive souvenirs. after that we just HAD to go back for a nap before dinner at a fave tapas restaurant. we ate our faces off and then went back to freshen up (totally necessary when it's 90 degrees).

we put on our fancy dresses and headed out to the class party. there was a photo booth so we made complete asses of ourselves in there...squeezed four grown women (and a little 14-week-old fetus) in that thing. we mingled and a couple people told me i looked the same as i did in college...not sure if they meant it, but i'll take it as truth! eventually (as in five minutes into the party) we got ourselves some drinks and proceeded to people watch. what fun. after a while the music kicked in and we were officially the second group on the dance floor. didn't take long for others to follow and then it was just a sweat fest. i had a ball. two of my girls fell on the floor that night...one got laughed at by strangers and one got laughed at by me (before i picked her up). no one was hurt, not even the fetus.

we went back to the dorms post-party and observed some beer pong being played by old friends. we didn't want to play wine pong which was why we were watching. we eventually got to bed, slept in, then packed our stuff to go. we shared one last breakfast together and then it was time to hit the road. we said goodbye as if we'd see each other tomorrow...

one more side note is that i drove straight to my in-laws house for my SIL's graduation party...my FIL said he kept the lights low in case i was hung over. he was right and i appreciate his kindness. i lasted an hour and a half before heading home with the babe...and again we slept.
