#200

a few days ago i realized that my next post (this post) would be my 200th post.  not terribly significant, but a nice round number.  i felt like the post had to be deep, significant, meaningful...especially since i've been slacking lately on getting cassie's milestones documented.  but then i realized it didn't have to be all that.  it could be about the little things...all 200 of them.  (don't worry, i won't be listing all 200 here!)

today i thought to myself "i'm so tired of folding laundry."  my back hurt, i was getting overheated, it was my fourth load...  but then i thought "i'm so happy and lucky that i have this little one to fold laundry for."  i really am so fortunate to have this sweet girl in my life...with all her little socks and jammies and onesies and tiny washcloths and sheets with birdies on them.  i wanted all this for so long and i love it.  so now i've tried to change the way i think and i'm happy folding laundry and washing her highchair tray and putting her books away and cleaning up the living room each night.    i'm happy to be her mama.

speaking of which, she's saying "mama" now in a meaningful way.  i was doing my makeup the other day and she came to the doorway and said "MAMA" all loud and purposeful.  i just squealed and said i love you cassie!!!  she ran away.  but whatever...she said it!

  2. This is such a great attitude and it works for so many things. Look for the good, focus on the benefits, and things that were once "chores" become fun tasks. I read an article this morning that put this very succinctly. http://zenhabits.net/allowed/
